RBWM: “Call For Sites”

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to inform you that the council is undertaking a ‘call for sites,’ in advance of updating its Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA).

The council wishes to understand the views of landowners, developers and other stakeholders on the availability and deliverability of potential sites.

Landowners, developers and other interested parties can submit suggestions for site options they would like the council to consider. You don’t need to be the landowner but ideally you should provide information and the views of the landowner.

As you may be aware, the council already maintains information on sites promoted for these uses in the form of the current Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment.  This ’call for sites’ will be used to update this study with the latest information. Sites promoted previously should be resubmitted to confirm their availability, including any appropriate additional information.

Suggested sites can be for housing including specialist housing such as communal accommodation without significant care, self and custom build, gypsy, travellers and travelling showpeople’s accommodation, employment, retail, tourism, leisure, waste, minerals or a mix of these uses.

Please use the council’s ‘call for sites’ pro forma to suggest sites. This should also include sites with current planning permission.  Please note that: indicating the availability of a piece of land to the council does not change the status of the land and inclusion of a site within theHousing and Economic Land Availability Assessment  is not an endorsement by the council that the site is necessarily needed or suitable for development.
